Copy of Hørningstenen runestone at Vikingemuseet (Viking Museum) Århus Denmark www.vikingemuseet.dk. Original at Moesgård Museum Århus www.moesgaardmuseum.dk. Original discovered 1849 by a farmer on his land between Jelling and Århus. Erected by a freed slave.

According to the Samnordisk runtextdatabas the inscription reads:

tuki : smiþr : riþ : stin : ift ¶ þurkisl : kuþmutaR : sun : is : hanum ¶ kaf : kul : uk : frialsi

Tóki Smiðr reisti stein ept Þorgísl Guðmundar son, er honum gaf gull(?) ok frelsi.

Tóki Smith raised the stone in memory of Þorgísl Guðmundr's son, who gave him gold(?) and freedom.
