Description
Vidar defeats the wolf Fenrir' is a frieze by Dagfin Werenskiold that is displayed outside Oslo City Hall together with eleven other friezes of his. The friezes are made of pine deck timber, impregnated with linseed oil, and then painted and gilded with gold or silver. The frieze shows Vidar, son of Odin, defeating his father's slayer. To prevent the wolf's teeth hurting him, he wears a shoe made from all the cobblers' off-cuts.
