This rune stone was donated to the Ashmolean Museum by Charles XI of Sweden in 1687 (along with the <a href="http://www.worldtreeproject.org/document/676">Ändersta Rune Stone</a> (U 1160). It was originally located outside a church in Ed, Sweden. In normalised form it reads: Þorstæinn let gæra mærki æftiʀ Svæin, faður sinn, ok æftiʀ Þori, broður sinn, þæiʀ vaʀu ut til G[r]ikkia, ok æftiʀ Ingiþoru, moður sina. Øpiʀ risti.
