The site, behind the library in Trondheim, was thought to be the location of a church, but now proof has been found, and it is speculated that the church was connected to Olaf Haraldsson who became St Olaf after his death at Stiklestad in 1030. Remains of earlier buildings from the 9th and 10th centuries have also been found in this area of central Trondheim.
