Title
A name given to the resource
Nazi Propaganda Poster, on display in the Swedish History Museum
Subject
The topic of the resource
Propaganda
Description
An account of the resource
The Nazis used the image of the Viking and an appeal to 'Nordic' identity in order to claim common ground with, and recruit from, the occupied countries of Denmark and Norway. Items like this now serve as a sage reminder that Viking 'branding' has not always been as benign as it usually appears to be in the twenty-first century, and that Norse and Viking heritage has been misappropriated for political ends, particularly by white supremacist movements.
