Bar named after the Vikings in this small town in A Coruña, near Santiago de Compostela. The Vikings did reach this part of Galicia, first raiding the coast in the mid ninth century, but the connection to the Vikings in this specific town is not particularly clear. It is more likely to be based on an international stereotype of the Vikings as big drinkers than a local response to heritage. Photo taken by Puk Faxe Sabinsky in 2014.

Romeria Vikinga: Vikings Reenact Raid of Galicia
Subject
Video
Description
Viking enthusiasts donned ferocious warrior outfits, storming the banks of Catoira as part of the "Romeria Vikinga" festival. The mass reenactment is based on the attack on the village by a Viking tribe, with participants using a replica of a Viking boat to simulate the raid. The Vikings' arrival by boat culminated in a mock battle, including clashes with fake swords, axes and hammers, while playing drums and blowing horns.

This souvenir was seen in Vigo, Galicia, with the label 'Runica Nordica'. There are several designs, which all seem to be a combination of runes with geometric shapes, and an accompanying value (such as 'love'). There is little discernible connection with the futhark.
