Description
An account of the resource
Sólfar / Sun Voyager by artist Jón Gunnar Árnason is often described as a Viking ship, when in fact the inspiration is more complex, as this information put together by the artist's daughter, Thorbjörg Jónsdóttir, explains. The document includes details of other statues and artworks produced by the artist, some of which are clearly inspired by Norse history and mythology.

Description
An account of the resource
Photo of the Sun Voyager, a sculpture by Jón Gunnar Árnason, and unveiled in 1990 near Sæbraut in Reykjavík, Iceland. Though many people assume it to represent a Viking Ship and refer to Norse heritage, the artist's inspirations were more complex, and there is no specific connection to the Vikings.
