<p>Rune stone from Vedyxa (Viggby), Uppland (U 957).</p>
<p>According to the <em>Samnordisk runtextdatabas</em> the inscription reads:</p>
<p><strong>kerþar ' ok ' ulfr ' ok ulbiarn ' ok ' abiarn ok runi + þair ' litu hakua ' stain ' at ' iarl faþur sin ' arfriþ(r) at ' bonta sin</strong><br /><br /><em>Gerðarr ok Ulfr ok Holmbjôrn ok Ábjôrn ok Rúni þeir létu hôggva stein at Jarl, fôður sinn, Arnfríðr at bónda sinn.</em></p>
<p>Gerðarr and Ulfr and Holmbjôrn and Ábjôrn and Rúni, they had the stone cut in memory of Jarl, their father; Arnfríðr in memory of her husbandman.</p>

The Zetland Window depicts Haraldr Hárfagri (Harald Fairhair), first King of Norway, who conquered Shetland in around 870, and Rognvald Eysteinsson, who was offered the first Earldom of Shetland but declined in favour of his brother Sigurd.
