An account of the resource
A replica of Rune stone Gs 19 which was destroyed in a fire in the <span>adjacent </span>Okelbo Kyrka, Gästriklands, Sweden. It is one of the so-called Sigurd Stones, which depict scenes from the legend of the Völsungs. It also includes a unique depiction of the playing of the boardgame Hnefatafl.<br /><br />According to the <em>Samnordisk Runtextdatabas</em> the inscription reads:<br />
<p><strong>blesa × lit × raisa × stain×kumbl × þesa × fa(i)(k)(r)(n) × ef(t)ir × sun sin × suar×aufþa × fr(i)þelfr × u-r × muþir × ons × siionum × kan : inuart : þisa × bhum : arn : (i)omuan sun : (m)(i)e(k)]</strong><br /><br /><em>Blesa lét reisa steinkuml þessi fagru eptir son sinn Svarthôfða. Friðelfr v[a]r móðir hans <siionum> <kan> <inuart> <þisa> <bhum> <arn> <iomuan> son <miek>.</em><br /><br /></p>
<p>Blesa had these fair stone-monuments raised in memory of his son Svarthôfði. Friðelfr was his mother. ...<br /><br /><br /></p>

Staff from Gävle
Description
An account of the resource
This staff has been found in Gävle (Gastrikland, Sweden) in a grave in which have been also discovered weaponry and jewellery. It has been made from iron with ornamentation with bronze animal heads. In the lower part it has ring with tree iron pendants.
Photo of this artefact has been took on the temporary exhibition entitled 'Die Wikinger' which took place in Berlin in 2014.
