Viking Chant - Iceland Scores

Title

Viking Chant - Iceland Scores

Subject

Misconceptions

Description

The rousing chant used by Icelandic football fans has been widely commented on in the media following their success against England. The chant is most often referred to as a Viking war cry, but in fact it has nothing to do with the Vikings and is borrowed from Motherwell Football Club. However, the Icelandic fans regularly sport horned helmets, so it is not hard to see where this misconception comes from.
