It is branded using the Old Norse name for Kirkwall (Kirkjuvagr or 'Church Inlet') and the website explains that "Kirkjuvagr Gin reflects the rich history of our islands and the boldness of those ancient seafarers" as well as using some ingredients known to the Norse.
