Description
Snaptun stone is tuyère which protect the bellows from a heat of a blacksmith's forge. It has been found on a beach near Snaptun, Demark. On the stone has been carved face with long, curled moustache and stitched mouth. Researchers have identified this face as depiction of god Loki, because in the Prose Edda (Skáldskaparmál) has been included tale in which mouth of this god has been stitch up.
Snaptun stone is currently displayed in the 'vǫlva cottage', on the permanent exhibition devoted to the Viking Age in the Moesgård Museum, Denmark.
