Description

Street in Tønsberg named for Bjørn 'Farmann' Haraldsson (Old Norse 'farmaðr'; English 'tradesman') who was one of the sons of Harald Fairhair. He became king of Vestfold on his father's death, but was killed by his brother Eirik Blood-axe. His burial mound lies 3km outside Tønsberg near the village of Sem. He is mentioned in Heimskringla and is noted for being more of a merchant than a warrior-king.
