Description

A chalk mural decorating the interior of one of the larger reconstructed townhouses in Ribe VikingCenter (the Thing-Hall)
and telling the history of the Vikings in Ribe. It was produced using authentic materials and techniques by artist Trine Theut in 2010 to celebrate 1300 years since the foundation of Ribe. It is influenced in part by the design of the Bayeux tapestry, and includes several runic inscriptions. It is strikingly displayed in the fire-lit interior.
